Job Description

Join our Vehicle Motion Logistic Innovation team: We scout, validate, and roll out cutting-edge innovations across our VM manufacturing plants worldwide. Our focus areas include automation and digitalization: among others mobile robots (AGVs/AMRs), sensors, intelligent warehouses, and applied AI projects. We bridge the gap between modern technology and shop floor logistics.

  • During your internship you will support the international rollout of Industrial IoT (IIoT) devices (such as sensors and electronic displays / ESL) across our manufacturing plants.
  • You will assist in capturing site-specific requirements and evaluate operational needs with local plant teams.
  • Furthermore, you will help calculate business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility for new use cases.
  • You will support the technical configuration, scripting, and integration of devices (using APIs and JavaScript).
  • Moreover, you will conduct functional testing, help troubleshooting issues, and create user-friendly setup guides and documentation for plant teams.
  • Finally, you will coordinate and communicate remotely with cross-functional plant teams worldwide (no travel required).

Qualifications

  • Education: studies in the field of Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: basic understanding of the working principle of sensors and electronic shelf labels / displays (ESL); practical coding/scripting experience, specifically handling REST APIs and JavaScript; understanding logistics processes, especially internal transport and material flow
  • Personality and Working Practice: you excel at driving projects with high motivation, analyzing complex topics systematically, and organizing your tasks autonomously
  • Work Routine: we offer you the opportunity to work in a hybrid setup
  • Languages: good in English and German

Additional Information

Start: according to prior agreement

Duration: 6 months
