As an Operations Support & Systems Intern (Policy Governance & Operational Risk), you’ll gain valuable exposure to how policies are governed, implemented, and embedded across business units and overseas offices within the Bank. This role offers hands-on learning in operational risk management, data analytics, and governance frameworks that support a strong and resilient banking environment.

You’ll do well in this role if you’re analytical, structured, and curious about how policies and risk frameworks operate in practice. You’re comfortable working with data and dashboards, able to synthesize information clearly, and enjoy supporting initiatives that improve governance and operational discipline. Being proactive, detail-oriented, and open to learning will help you contribute effectively to the team.
What you do
Your responsibilities will include:
Policy Governance Support assist in the operationalisation of the Bank’s Group‑Wide Policy Governance Framework
Framework Implementation support the rollout and embedding of the framework across Global Wholesale Banking business units and overseas offices
Operational Risk Initiatives contribute to risk-related initiatives, including governance reviews and process enhancements
Dashboards & Analytics support the development and enhancement of dashboards, reporting, and analytics to provide visibility on policy governance and risk metrics
Ad-hoc Projects assist with other governance, analytics, or risk-related tasks as required
Who you work with
You’ll be part of the Operations Support & Systems team within Global Corporate Banking, working closely with business units, overseas offices, and risk stakeholders across the Bank. The team plays a key role in supporting effective governance, policy adherence, and operational risk management across the Global Wholesale Banking Division.
Who you are
An Undergraduate or Postgraduate student with an interest in governance, risk management, operations, or analytics
Analytical and comfortable working with data, dashboards, and structured frameworks
Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks
Curious and eager to learn how governance and risk frameworks are applied in a banking environment
A clear communicator and collaborative team player
