Job Description

The Intern January - June 2026 MRCSB Finance role offers an exciting opportunity for a Bachelor's degree holder in Accountancy/Finance to gain experience in Governance & Controls, including financial services (AP/AR), cash management, Limits of Authority and insurance.

At Malaysian Refining Company Sdn. Bhd., we are seeking a passionate and driven intern to join our 02017661 MRCSB Governance & Controls department. This role will provide valuable exposure to the world of finance and accounting, specifically within the realm of governance and controls. The intern will have the chance to learn and contribute to various aspects of financial management, including accounts payable and receivable, cash management, Limits of Authority and insurance-related tasks.

  • Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of Limits of Authority policies, promoting compliance and risk management.
  • Conduct research and analysis on insurance policies, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to prepare financial reports and ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights for effective financial planning.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal controls, enhancing overall financial governance.
  • Assist in audit preparations, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary information for smooth audit processes.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy/Finance or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance with a passion for finance and accounting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for financial analysis.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear documentation and collaboration.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new financial systems and processes.
  • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
