Job Description

PETRONAS Chemicals MTBE Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an HSE intern to join our dynamic team. This role offers an immersive experience in HSE practices, covering assurance, planning, contractor management, and emergency response, among other tasks.

The INTERN HSE (FIRE/ENV/OHIH/PERFORMANCE) will be an integral part of the 01010072 PC MTBE Health, Safety & Environment department. This internship program provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to our daily HSE operations. You will work closely with our team, learning and applying best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.

  • Assist in HSE assurance processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of HSE plans and strategies.
  • Liaise with contractors, ensuring they meet HSE requirements and providing guidance when needed.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and contribute to the development of emergency response plans.
  • Conduct HSE audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
  • Assist in data collection and analysis for HSE performance metrics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and deliver HSE training programs.
  • Research and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in HSE.
  • Support the department in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the HSE team.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in health, safety, and environmental management practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of HSE regulations and standards is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willingness to undergo training and development opportunities provided by the company.
  • Must be eligible to work in Malaysia.
