Internship / Global Electrolux Talent (GET)

Job Description

This internship is open to active students enrolled in a related Bachelor’s or Master’s program at a Swedish or European university, who will remain students throughout the entire internship period and are expected to graduate in December 2027 or later.

Start date 1 February 2026 – duration 6 months – full time.

If you want to help build the home of the future, start your career with us. At Electrolux Group, our vision is to be the home appliance industry leader in consumer satisfaction by delivering outstanding lifetime experiences with solutions that always get better. We share ideas and collaborate so that together, we can develop solutions that deliver more enjoyable and sustainable living.

About the Role

Creative Technology team sits within the design organization, combining disciplines of design, development, and engineering. We build internal tools that speed up the design workflow, build exploratory vision prototypes that explore novel product ideas and interaction modalities, and bridge the gap between design, development, and engineering.

As an intern in the Creative Technology team, you would help:

  • Create prototypes at different levels of fidelity, from quick experiments to robust demonstrators.
  • Explore how emerging technologies can create meaningful experiences in the home.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Contribute to a culture of experimentation, knowledge-sharing, and constructive critique.
  • Bridge the physical and digital world through software and electronics, working on both physical appliances and connected digital experiences.

What You'll Work On

  • Assist designers in preparing prototypes for user testing of current products.
  • Translate design questions and hypotheses into appropriate prototypes and experiments, selecting the right fidelity, tools, and technical approach for each prototype.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization and prototyping of vision prototypes for innovation design initiatives.
  • Test, debug, and refine prototypes based on feedback from designers, engineers, and users.
  • Contribute to the organization and maintenance of the prototyping lab.
  • Gain exposure to and contribute across the design process, from research to prototyping and communication of findings.

Combination with Thesis Project

We offer the possibility of hosting a Bachelor or Master thesis project. The topic should be developed in alignment with the people leader of the position and relevant for the Electrolux Group.

  • Deep dive into one topic and investigate a jointly defined research question through design research and prototyping, producing both an academic thesis and a tangible prototype or demonstrator. The scope will be agreed with the student, university, and Electrolux supervisors.

What You'll Learn

  • How to collaborate on design initiatives across industrial design, interaction design, research, software, and engineering.
  • How to determine what a prototype needs to prove and choose an appropriate level of fidelity.
  • Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping and idea conceptualization, and strengthening prototyping skills, including but not limited to working with electronics, software development, 3D modelling, and 3D printing.
  • Soft skills in project planning, structuring ambiguous work, and communication of ideas.
  • How to communicate technical opportunities and limitations to non-technical collaborators.
  • How to turn ambiguous opportunities into testable design hypotheses
  • undefined.

Who You Are

We are looking for a student who combines structured thinking with genuine curiosity about organizations;

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s program in the field of HCI / Industrial Design Engineering / Product Design and eligible to undertake a six-month internship or thesis project.
  • Interested in using technology as a material for design exploration.
  • Curiosity for design craft (interaction, visual, industrial), technology, and emerging trends.
  • Able to move from an ambiguous question to a tangible experiment or prototype.
  • Comfortable learning unfamiliar tools and technologies when a project requires it.
  • Able to communicate ideas, decisions, and limitations clearly through prototypes, visuals, and conversation.
  • Structured, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • With a portfolio demonstrating how you explore ideas and solve problems through prototypes, experiments, or technical projects - (At least one example showing your process, including the question, iterations, challenges, and what you learned – not only the final result. Projects may come from coursework, personal experimentation, hackathons, employment, or collaborative work.)

Bonus criteria:

  • Experience with one or more prototyping technologies, such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, creative coding, PCB design, Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, sensors, actuators, computer vision, or connected devices
  • Experience with CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting, electronics assembly, or other fabrication methods
  • Familiarity with Figma or other interaction and visual design tools
  • Experience preparing prototypes for user research or public demonstrations
  • Interest in emerging interaction modalities such as voice, gesture, spatial interfaces, AI-enabled experiences, or tangible interaction
  • Experience documenting projects through photography, video, diagrams, or written case studies

Where you´ll be

You will be based at our modern global Headquarters in Stockholm, with 1,200+ colleagues on site. We work in a hybrid setup that gives everyone up to 20% flexibility to work remotely, while boosting creativity and collaboration through regular office presence. The work contract is full-time and limited to 6 months, with monthly compensation of 21,000 SEK for Bachelor students and 22,000 SEK for Master students.

Please note that Electrolux Group does not provide visa sponsorship for internships. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Sweden for the full duration of the internship at the time of application. This may include, for example, EU/EEA citizenship, Swedish permanent residence, or a valid Swedish residence and work permit that does not require employer sponsorship.
