Project: Performance Management Platform | Decathlon Thailand Warehouse
Location: Decathlon warehouse
Duration: more than 4 months
Project Background
The Performance Management Platform is a flagship digital project for our Thailand Warehouse. It centralizes workforce planning, shift scheduling, loading/cutoff tracking, productivity data, and real-time operational KPIs into a single platform—enabling warehouse leaders to make faster, data-driven decisions.
As our Backend Developer Intern, you will design and develop the core engine of the platform, converting warehouse operational requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable backend services:
Backend System Development: Design business logic, data models, and database queries for workforce planning, scheduling, and KPI tracking.
API Development: Build and maintain secure REST APIs for seamless communication between the frontend and internal database layers.
Data Integration & Automation: Connect warehouse data sources and automate data movement using SQL, Python, and API integrations to replace manual spreadsheets.
Security & Reliability: Implement user authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), data validation, logging, and performance optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Frontend Developers, Project Managers, and Warehouse Operational Leaders to deliver features end-to-end.
Fully Functional Platform Backend: A ready-to-use backend layer supporting workforce planning, dashboards, and live KPI monitoring.
Technical Documentation: Comprehensive documentation covering system architecture, database schemas, API endpoints, and deployment steps.
Knowledge Transfer: A smooth handover session presenting the codebase and system workflows to the Decathlon tech team.
As our Frontend Developer Intern, you will be the owner of the user experience, transforming complex warehouse workflows into clean, intuitive, and responsive web interfaces:
UI/UX Development: Build responsive web interfaces for workforce scheduling, real-time KPI dashboards, and productivity tracking across desktop and tablet screens.
Component Design: Create reusable UI components, interactive forms, data tables, filters, and charts aligned with Decathlon's visual design standards.
API Integration: Connect user interfaces with backend REST APIs, gracefully handling state management, loading indicators, and error validations.
User-Centred Testing: Observe actual warehouse operations, gather feedback from operational users, and refine interfaces to make them effortless for teammates to use.
Code Quality: Maintain clean, structured, and well-documented frontend code using modern Web development practices.
Live User Interface: A fully integrated, responsive web platform delivering intuitive dashboards and operational workflows for warehouse leaders.
Frontend Documentation: Clean code architecture documentation, UI component guides, and integration instructions.
Knowledge Transfer: A final demo and handover session presenting the frontend codebase and design system to the Decathlon tech team.
