In our department “Development of E-Drives and Transmissions” at Volkswagen Group Components, you will work on key technologies such as pulse inverters and power electronic components (chargers, DC/DC converters, etc.). You will validate ideas and concepts, perform simulations, and independently prepare analyses – acting as a sparring partner for our development team. We offer you an environment with a high level of scientific depth, the opportunity to help shape innovative solutions, and support for your master’s thesis – including access to conferences and publications. If you have experience with power electronics (>1 kW) and MATLAB, you are exactly what we are looking for!

Possible tasks within this role

  • Simulating, designing, and optimizing power electronic systems
  • Supporting the analysis and development of power electronic circuits as well as magnetic components
  • Assisting the team in developing innovative solutions for power electronics challenges in the automotive on-board charger domain

Qualification requirements

  • Enrolled in an advanced master’s program in electrical engineering, power electronics, or a comparable field of study
  • Good to very good academic performance
  • Knowledge of power electronic circuits and their functionality
  • Experience with power converters (>1 kW) and relevant experience with MATLAB required
  • Practical knowledge of additional simulation tools (e.g., Simulink, PLECS, SPICE) is desirable
  • Independent working style and quick comprehension
