We like to think of ourselves as more than just developers. We're a friendly group of around 300 people with plenty of casual and hardcore gamers, tech heads and creative masterminds, organized planners, and nerdy game fans who make this industry so fun. And we’re all together on a mission to open windows to amazing worlds. We've been making games for over 30 years, crafting and publishing unique experiences that have put us on the path to becoming a leader in Online Worlds.
We've got four studios spread across Norway, the USA, Portugal, and Romania, and we're always on the lookout for more dedicated people to join our ranks.
We're all about creating a relaxed and equal workspace where flat communication and our agile structure are key to delivering world-class games.
So, if you're ready to make your mark, we're ready to welcome you!
Applications are now open for our 2027 internship program at our Oslo studio. We are welcoming students currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (computer science, programming, game technology, software engineering, or a related subject) at an educational institution in Norway, who want to complete an unpaid internship as part of their studies.
Because internship arrangements vary between institutions and programs, we encourage you to confirm the requirements with your institution before applying.
The program offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced colleagues and mentors, and contribute towards a real game.
Application deadline: September 23, 2026
Time of the Internship: January–May 2027
Place: Oslo, Norway, On-site. You will need to arrange and cover your own travel and accommodation. You'll also have access to our free breakfast bar and lunch.
Our goal is to help set you up for a strong career in game development. After completing the internship, you'll be very welcome to apply for open positions at Funcom.
We are looking for two programming interns - one Tools Programming Intern and one Gameplay Programming Intern. Whether you are interested in the systems that turn source code into a finished game or the features that make our worlds fun to play, you'll contribute to a real project, learn from experienced colleagues, and grow your skills along the way.
You do not need professional game-industry experience or a shipped title. We're interested in what you've learned through your studies, personal projects, game jams, modding, or other technical work, and in your curiosity and willingness to grow.
We review applications on an ongoing basis and recommend applying as soon as possible.
Please apply in English.
