About the traineeship.  

This traineeship offers you a unique opportunity to kickstart your career in sustainable business. Each of the trainee positions is distinct, tied to a department within a specific business area and working location. Your role as a Trainee - Property Development and Construction Management

You will join Property Development and Construction Management. We are involved in all phases of project development, from early-stage feasibility studies and planning to project execution and completion. Our focus is on managing and addressing construction-related issues throughout the development process to ensure successful project delivery.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in and support feasibility studies, including meetings and activities aimed at enabling efficient project delivery. You will also gain experience in later project phases, working alongside Construction Managers on tasks such as cost control, contractor management, risk management, and other construction-related matters.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the entire construction and development process and contribute throughout all project phases. Typical responsibilities may include participating in, and eventually supporting, Real Estate Developers in negotiations and project planning during the early stages of development. You will also assist Construction Managers in documenting project deficiencies and quality issues, and over time develop the ability to independently evaluate construction-related challenges and propose solutions under the guidance of experienced colleagues.

Your responsibilities:

• Support Construction Managers with the documentation of construction-related defects and project issues
• Participate in technical drawing reviews to ensure compliance with project requirements and construction standards.
• Support real estate developers in managing construction-related matters during feasibility study phase and early-stage project development.
• Provide administrative support across construction and development projects
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to support efficient project delivery.

Kvalifikationer

Your qualifications as a Trainee - Property Development and Construction Management

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Urban Development and Infrastructure, or a related field.
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

To be considered for our traineeship, you should:

• Have completed, or expect to complete, an academic degree before the programme starts in March 2027
• Have no more than one year of relevant work experience after graduation, excluding internships and working-student roles
• Be fluent in English
• Be available for the full-time programme from its start date
• Have the right to work in the country where the position is based, or meet the stated work-permit requirements
• Be open to mobility opportunities and collaborating across different locations.

You will be working in the department Construction and Property Development and be located in Solna, Trollhättan or Gothenburg, (Sweden).

Selection will start after the application period with online tests, followed by interviews between the end of October to end November. The final recruitment process will be completed by December, with a pre-employment screening. The Vattenfall International Trainee Programme starts on March 1st, 2027.
