Qualifications:
At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as bachelor's degree in tourism management, hospitality, business administration or similar. At least 8 years in the design of community-based tourism schemes, and working with small-scale tourism operators. Prior experience working in the Pacific is preferred.
The Tourism Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks:
• Lead the design and oversee implementation of tourism assessments and focus group discussions
• Lead design of community-based tourism plan and associated activities
• Participate in the inception meeting
• Collect, review, and analyze relevant data
• Contribute to all deliverables/reports
• Contribute to stakeholder mapping activities
• Conduct site visits and stakeholder engagement
• Lead Community-Based Tourism Opportunity Development
• Provide input in data integration and GIS mapping
• Lead Community-Based Tourism Opportunity Development
• Provide input to Stakeholder Co-Design Workshop
• Prepare of Community-Based Tourism Concepts
• Provide input into Costing, Phasing, and Packaging of Interventions
• Support preparation of Implementation Plans for Each Component
