Our work spans international relations, sports diplomacy, trade and investment attraction, strategic partnerships, multicultural engagement and major city initiatives. From attracting international sporting organisations and pre-Games training camps to supporting international delegations and global partnerships, we help position Brisbane as a destination of choice for sport, business and investment.
The Role
As the Sports Attraction Project Manager, you will lead the implementation of Council's Sports Diplomacy Strategy and drive the attraction of National Olympic Committees (NOCs), National Paralympic Committees (NPCs), International Federations (IFs), sporting organisations and related high-performance and sports industry partners to Brisbane.
You will identify, originate and convert opportunities that position Brisbane as a preferred destination for pre-Games training camps, international sporting partnerships, hospitality house programs, sporting events and sport-related investment opportunities.
Acting as a key representative for Brisbane, you will build influential relationships across the global sporting ecosystem, engaging directly with Olympic and Paralympic stakeholders, international delegations, governments, educational institutions, sporting organisations and strategic partners.
You will work across Council, government and industry to facilitate site inspections, familiarisation visits, hosted engagements and strategic negotiations that showcase Brisbane's world-class sporting, educational and high-performance capabilities.
This role will contribute to securing a share of the rapidly growing global pre-Games training and hosting market associated with Brisbane 2032 while delivering tangible economic, social and legacy outcomes for the city.
Leading a small high-performing team, you will drive strategic initiatives, cultivate influential relationships and convert opportunities into outcomes that support Brisbane's long-term sporting, economic and international ambitions.
