Job Description

As an International Private Bank, UHNW Investor, Managing Director in the China team (Hong Kong based) of J.P. Morgan Private Bank, you are responsible for advising UHNW clients on building, preserving and managing their wealth. You will use your knowledge of multi assets investments to partner up closely with bankers/ solution partners, and advise clients on all aspects of investments. You will be part of a local team and supported by an institutional platform that has the resources, specialists and intellectual capital to help you advise clients on achieving their desired goals.

  • Provide investment advisory services and recommendations across multiple asset classes to Private Banking clients

  • Service and develop clients by providing investment advice in a holistic approach (including discretionary and advisory) through a combination of technical knowledge and a structured investment approach

  • Maintain investment dialogue with the most complex clients on understanding goals and objectives, developing and implementing overall investment plan

  • Identify product solutions for client needs, based on house view on the market

  • Provide advice and investment solutions according to relevant legal and compliance requirements

  • Work in close partnership with Private Bankers in providing investment expertise to existing and prospective clients, as well as in identifying new business opportunities

  • Involve in new marketing initiatives for more complex clients along with other team members

  • Contribute to trade ideas suitable for the Bank’s active client base

  • Act independently within established policy guidelines and in accordance with client

  • Adhere to the Bank’s policies and procedures thereby protecting the business from financial and reputational risks

  • Supervise, coach, and train junior staff to maximize their individual contribution to the team as required

  • Work together with other teams in meeting all compliance, regulatory, risk management, operational, and due diligence requirements and compliance with internal policies

  • May require regular travel into coverage regions to foster relationships

Personal Attributes & Requirements

  • University degree holder and / or with 15+ years of professional experience in a similar capacity

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is required for dealing with maindland Chinese clients

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Strong understanding of the needs and sensitivities of clients (private individuals and families)

  • Proven track record on investment sales and / or relationship management performance

  • Thorough knowledge of the full range of solutions and investment products and strong knowledge of relevant financial markets and instruments

  • Able to work under minimal supervision; adaptable to work in demanding environment

  • Detail-oriented and results-focused

  • Strong knowledge of local regulatory policies and guidelines

  • Appropriate local regulatory qualification and licenses
