Job Description

The role

As our International Parcels Manager, you will shape the strategic direction and daily operational success of NEXT’s carrier network. In this newly created role, you’ll report into the International Logistics Manager and will be the key driver in ensuring our delivery partners consistently hit agreed service levels, cost targets, and capacity expectations to give our customers a seamless post-purchase experience. Working closely with internal teams across Commercial, Tech, Finance, and Warehouse Operations, you’ll lead and coach a team of Parcel Controllers to set new standards in carrier performance. Based at our Head Office campus in Enderby, this role presents an exceptional opportunity for a driven and dynamic individual to shape the next chapter in the growth of NEXT’s International business as part of the leadership team. Alongside a starting salary of £55,060, we offer an excellent range of benefits including a company car and executive share allocation.

What you'll take on

  • Lead, coach, and empower the Controller team to proactively manage carrier relationships and maintain clear operational accountability.
  • Monitor network performance—tracking key metrics such as OTIF, delivery lead times, claims, and returns to drive corrective action plans where needed.
  • Partner with Logistics Managers to guide carrier strategy, support tender activities, and unlock cost-reduction opportunities across the network.
  • Own peak planning and capacity forecasting, ensuring carriers remain resilient, adaptable, and fully prepared for volume spikes and new market entries.
  • Drive operational change by managing carrier onboarding, custom process updates, system enhancements, and new delivery propositions.
  • Maintain clear reporting on carrier scorecards, cost-per-parcel trends, and overall service health to present clear updates to stakeholders.
  • Travel to the UK warehouses and international partner hubs as required to foster strong partnerships

What you'll bring

  • Hands-on experience managing third-party logistics providers and carrier networks within complex retail or supply chain environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a solid background in contract governance, performance benchmarking, and budget management.
  • Excellent leadership qualities, with a focus on coaching, developing, and motivating high-performing teams, leading by example
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to spot trends, navigate challenges, and refine processes.
  • Natural communication and influencing skills, allowing you to build trusted relationships with carrier partners and senior internal stakeholders alike.
  • A proactive, organised approach to handling fast-paced operations and championing continuous service improvement.
  • Flexible, adaptable and customer focused, with strong relationship building skills
