East West Bank is seeking an Int’l Operational Specialist. Reporting to the Int’l Operational Supervisor. The employee is responsible for delivering a high level of world class customer service through various inbound and outbound channels for commercial trade finance customers with Trade Finance Products.

The Specialist will be responsible for handling customer inquiries, processing all trade transactions including Commercial LC and Documentary Collections, providing issue resolution within established guidelines, following department procedures and making sure to deliver within established service levels. Provide prompt and courteous customer service to both internal and external customers. Will be familiar with the updated industrial knowledge including but not limited to UCP600, URC522, Incoterms, SWIFT, OFAC, AML, BSA, and regulations related to the industry. Job functions may vary and other duties assigned based on business need.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the handling of Import LC and amendment issuing, financing, payments, shipping guarantee, documentary collections, and other trade finance products
  • Provide advice and direction on operational aspects of trade finance to both internal and external customers with high level of responsiveness and excellent customer service skill
  • Adhere to all department policies and procedures to ensure all Internal Compliance/Anti-Boycott/OFAC/AML. Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure compliance with legal requirements, government rules, ICC rules, and internal policies and procedures
  • Ensures a collaborative climate, builds, sets priorities, demonstrates sufficient "know-how" and improves performance through feedback
  • Maintain a customer centric approach and effectively respond to service level agreements
  • Seasoned Specialist with knowledge of Trade systems and products. Utilizes a strong knowledge of internal policies and procedures to professionally respond to customer inquiries. Works independently in an autonomous manner
  • Make decisions quickly while balancing risk with opportunity
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • College degree or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in related field is required
  • Must have strong product, operational, and commercial banking knowledge in order to efficiently resolve issues. Knowledge of UCP600, URC522, Incoterms, SWIFT, OFAC, AML, BSA, and regulations related to the industry
  • Ability to handle and escalate situations using great interpersonal, negotiating and problem solving skills. Troubleshoot wide-ranging issues, identifying and mitigating risks, keeping management informed
  • Ability to pay attention to details and follow through.
  • Must be able to multi-task between incoming calls and email requests with accuracy
  • Proficient written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, internet and internal software

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $20.00/Hr. - USD $24.00/Hr. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
