With minimal supervision, handle all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics regarding domestic and international shipment activities

Essential Functions

  • Produce documentation, track shipments, and communicate with forwarders and customs brokers

  • Oversee Logistics coordinators and work produced

  • Training for the Logistics Department personnel

  • All HR responsibilities for direct reports, hiring, discipline, check ins, etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete with freight forwarders

  • Prepare freight quotes for all types of freight

  • Coordinate import and export (ocean/air) shipments; arrange LTL & FTL shipments

  • Coordinate weekly consolidations from our warehouse to key customers and provide support to Sales Support team

  • Review, log and approve freight invoices

  • Assist various departments with coordination of delivery of MRO

  • Key POC for escalated issues

  • Reconciling of any Logistic cost invoices

  • Timely response within SLA for all JIRA tickets

  • Follow-up and resolve International and Domestic shipment issues

  • Oversight and trouble shooting of both UPS and Fed Ex ship stations

  • Conduct various analyses for logistics optimization and cost-savings efforts

  • Prepare and maintain various reports

  • Assist with additional duties as assigned

Magnitude and relationship reporting

This position reports to the Senior Director, Fulfillment.

Contacts inside and outside the organization

This position has contact with our Sales, Resource Management, Warehouse, Facilities, Samples, Credit and Product Management. Outside contacts encompass shipping companies, freight forwarders and Maharam International joint ventures and agents.

Additionally, there is contact with our clients’ purchasing and logistics personnel.

This position has direct reports.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe PDF

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, both verbally and in writing

  • Must be accurate, thorough and neat

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Experience with UPS World ship and FedEx Ship Manager a plus

  • Working knowledge OzLink quote system and Descartes Customs application is desired

  • Experience with drop shipping from domestic and international sources is desired

Education and Experience

  • High School degree required; business school or college degree preferred

  • Knowledge of International shipping logistics is required

  • Knowledge of Domestic shipping logistics is required

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred, not required

Compensation range for this role is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors . You may also be eligible to receive a geographic premium, annual discretionary incentive and equity awards which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
