Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven FX Payments Manager to lead the Cross-Border Payments function within Operations. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of inward and outward FX payment streams, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant execution while delivering a seamless and client-centric experience.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, strengthen operational efficiency, and ensure robust governance, risk management, and stakeholder delivery across the function.

  • Lead the end-to-end execution and settlement of inward and outward cross-border FX payments, ensuring high accuracy and first-time-right processing.
  • Provide leadership within an ACI-enabled processing environment, ensuring strong control over monitoring, exception handling, escalation, and resolution.
  • Produce and deliver monthly reporting, including performance insights, risk metrics, control effectiveness, and service delivery outcomes.
  • Analyse operational trends to identify inefficiencies, service gaps, and control weaknesses, and implement sustainable improvement initiatives.
  • Drive operational transformation by streamlining processes, reducing rework, improving turnaround times, and enhancing overall efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, including AML, sanctions screening, and suspicious transaction reporting (STR).
  • Maintain audit readiness and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Apply and uphold Minimum Trading Standards (Model Code) in all relevant operational activities.
  • Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, translating strategy into clear objectives and disciplined execution.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Financial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in cross-border FX payments execution and settlement (inward and outward).
  • ACI Operations Certification (mandatory).
  • Strong working knowledge of Minimum Trading Standards (Model Code).
  • Proven expertise in SWIFT messaging and ISO 20022 standards.
  • Solid understanding of AML, sanctions compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in reconciliations, exception handling, suspense account management, and operational reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a payments or FX operations environment.
