Job Description

Help Drive the Future of Electric Mobility

Are you a confident sales professional who loves turning enquiries into opportunities, building strong customer relationships and seeing a deal through from first conversation to successful delivery?

EMC Electric Vehicles, a subsidiary of Varley Group, is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially driven Internal Sales Representative to join our team in Tomago.

This is not a traditional desk-based sales role. You will take ownership of customer enquiries, develop quotations, manage opportunities through the sales pipeline and coordinate after-sales servicing. You will work with customers across commercial, industrial, tourism and government markets, helping them find practical low-speed electric vehicle solutions for their operations.

If you enjoy variety, thrive on achieving results and want to build your sales career in an innovative and growing industry, this could be the opportunity for you.

About EMC Electric Vehicles

EMC Electric Vehicles delivers low-speed electric vehicle solutions to customers across a diverse range of industries and operating environments.

As a subsidiary of Varley Group, EMC combines the agility and innovation of a specialist electric vehicle business with the strength, resources and career opportunities of one of Australia’s established engineering and manufacturing organisations.

You will join a business focused on customer relationships, commercial growth and providing tailored vehicle solutions supported by quality after-sales service.

About the Role

As our Internal Sales Representative, you will be an important connection between our customers, sales team, service providers and broader business.

You will manage incoming telephone and online enquiries, prepare and follow up quotations, nurture customer relationships and convert opportunities into profitable sales. You will also coordinate vehicle servicing, maintain accurate customer and sales records, and help ensure every customer receives responsive support throughout their journey with EMC.

This role offers the perfect combination of sales, customer service, account management and operational coordination, with plenty of opportunity to make the position your own.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responding to telephone, email and web enquiries with energy and professionalism.
  • Preparing accurate and competitive quotations, proposals and tender responses.
  • Following up leads and quotations to convert opportunities into sales.
  • Managing an active sales pipeline and maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Building strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Identifying opportunities for repeat business, additional products and value-added solutions.
  • Supporting sales growth across NSW, South Australia and Victoria.
  • Coordinating vehicle servicing between customers and service providers.
  • Raising purchase orders and reviewing incoming service invoices for accuracy.
  • Scheduling customer follow-up calls and gathering feedback on completed services.
  • Providing customers with updates regarding production, delivery and service progress.
  • Monitoring customer requirements, competitor activity and emerging market opportunities.
  • Working collaboratively with Sales, After Sales, Spare Parts and Administration teams

About You

You are engaging, organised and commercially minded, with the confidence to build rapport over the phone and the drive to turn customer conversations into meaningful business opportunities.

You will ideally bring:

  • At least three years’ experience in B2B or B2C sales.
  • Previous telephone sales and quotation experience.
  • Experience in automotive, electric vehicles, fleet solutions, industrial equipment or another technical product environment.
  • The ability to manage customer enquiries, quotations and competing priorities.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and follow-up skills.
  • Confidence working towards sales targets and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience maintaining sales opportunities and activities within a CRM.
  • Technical aptitude and an interest in vehicle specifications, charging systems and operational requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused and genuinely customer-first approach.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
  • Experience coordinating vehicle servicing or after-sales support, which will be highly regarded.

Why Join EMC and Varley Group?

This is your opportunity to join the growing electric vehicle industry while benefiting from the backing, stability and career opportunities available across the broader Varley Group.

You will have the chance to:

  • Represent an innovative and evolving electric vehicle product range.
  • Take ownership of customer relationships and make a visible commercial impact.
  • Develop experience across sales, account management and after-sales service.
  • Work with customers across a variety of interesting industries.
  • Grow your career within EMC and across the broader Varley Group.
  • Join a supportive and collaborative team where initiative is encouraged.
  • Access ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Receive a competitive remuneration package with commission potential.
  • Access discounted Fitness Passport membership.
  • Access confidential support through the Employee Assistance Program
