Job Description

Customers. Solutions. Variety. A role where you’re right in the middle of it all.

If you enjoy talking to customers, solving problems and seeing an order through from the first enquiry to the final delivery, this could be the role for you.

A1 Roadlines is looking for a proactive Internal Sales & Customer Service Coordinator to join our Knoxfield team.

This isn't a role where you'll spend every day doing the same thing. One minute you could be preparing a quote, the next helping a customer with a parts enquiry, checking the progress of an order with Production, or working through a service request.

You'll become an important link between our customers and the teams that make things happen, helping ensure every enquiry, order and request receives the attention it deserves.

And while you'll be part of the close-knit A1 Roadlines team, you'll also have the stability and opportunities that come with being part of the broader Varley Group.

About A1 Roadlines

A1 Roadlines has been supporting Australia's road safety and traffic management industries for more than 50 years.

Our specialist products and solutions include:

  • Scorpion Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs)
  • Automated Cone Laying Machines (ACLMs)
  • Portable Traffic Lights
  • Traffic Control Equipment
  • Parts, servicing and aftermarket support

Today, A1 Roadlines is proudly part of Varley Group, one of Australia's longest-established privately owned engineering and manufacturing organisations.

That means you'll get the best of both worlds: a close-knit business where your contribution is visible, backed by the strength and stability of a larger Australian organisation.

The Opportunity

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys providing great service and takes ownership of getting things done.

You'll be one of our key day-to-day contacts for customers, managing enquiries, preparing quotations, coordinating orders and ensuring customers are kept informed along the way.

You'll work closely with Sales, Production, Purchasing and Business Operations, so you'll quickly develop an understanding of how the whole business works.

This is an ideal opportunity if you enjoy:

Customers + coordination + problem solving + variety.

About the Role

We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Internal Sales & Customer Service Coordinator to join our team.

This is more than a traditional internal sales role. You'll become a key point of contact for customers, supporting enquiries, preparing quotations, processing orders and coordinating customer requirements through to completion and delivery.

Working closely with Sales, Production, Purchasing and Business Operations, you'll play an important role in ensuring customers receive a seamless and professional experience from enquiry through to delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved across the customer journey, including:

  • Managing customer enquiries across phone, email and online channels
  • Preparing quotations and proactively following up opportunities
  • Processing customer orders and maintaining accurate records
  • Coordinating orders from initial enquiry through to completion and delivery
  • Keeping customers updated on progress, availability and delivery timeframes
  • Raising job sheets and maintaining associated documentation
  • Monitoring stock availability and managing backorders
  • Supporting parts sales and aftermarket enquiries
  • Assisting with service and inspection enquiries
  • Working closely with Production to coordinate customer requirements and delivery commitments
  • Building strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Identifying additional sales and service opportunities
  • Helping improve the way we manage customer service and sales processes

You'll have support around you, but we'll also give you the opportunity to take ownership, learn the products and become someone our customers and internal teams can rely on.

About You

We're less interested in finding someone who ticks every box and more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, customer focus and willingness to learn.

You'll probably enjoy this role if you're someone who:

  • Likes speaking with customers and building relationships
  • Takes ownership rather than waiting to be asked
  • Enjoys solving problems and finding solutions
  • Can keep track of multiple orders, enquiries and priorities
  • Communicates clearly and follows through on commitments
  • Pays attention to the details
  • Enjoys being part of a practical, down-to-earth team
  • Is interested in learning technical products and developing industry knowledge

Ideally, you'll also bring:

  • Previous Internal Sales, Customer Service, Sales Support or Account Coordination experience
  • Experience preparing quotations and processing customer orders
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and business systems
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, automotive, transport, industrial or trade-related environments is highly regarded
  • Exposure to ERP or CRM systems would be advantageous

Why A1 Roadlines?

We're offering more than just another customer service role.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Build genuine relationships with customers rather than simply process transactions
  • Enjoy plenty of variety across sales, service, parts and customer support
  • Learn technical products and develop valuable industry knowledge
  • Work closely with different areas of the business and see the results of your work
  • Join a supportive, close-knit and practical team
  • Build a long-term career backed by the broader Varley Group

You'll also receive:

  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Stable, full-time employment
  • Long-term career development opportunities
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Exposure to a national engineering and manufacturing organisation
  • Opportunities to grow into broader sales, account management or business development roles over time

Ready for Something Different?

If you're a customer-focused person who enjoys variety, problem-solving and being part of a team where your contribution genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you.

You don't need to know everything about our products on day one. Bring the right attitude, strong customer service skills and a willingness to learn, and we'll help you build the rest.

Apply now and start your next chapter with A1 Roadlines and Varley Group.

As part of our recruitment process, applicants may be asked to complete a short questionnaire to help us better understand their experience, career aspirations and suitability for the role.
