Internal Sales | Metroll Butler

Metroll is one of Australia's leading manufacturers and suppliers of steel building products, servicing residential, commercial, industrial, rural, and infrastructure markets nationwide.

We are currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join our Butler team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

As a key member of our sales team, you'll work closely with customers, external sales representatives, and operational teams to provide accurate quotations, process orders, and deliver outstanding service from initial enquiry through to delivery.

About the Role

This is a varied and hands-on position where you'll be the first point of contact for many of our customers. You'll help customers find the right solutions for their projects while ensuring a seamless sales and service experience.

Working closely with our manufacturing and operations teams, you'll play an important role in supporting sales growth and maintaining strong customer relationships across the region.

This is a full-time position with working hours of 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, including a 1-hour lunch break.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email, and in person
  • Preparing quotations and processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, builders, contractors, and trade customers
  • Providing product information and technical support on Metroll's range of steel building products
  • Coordinating with production and dispatch teams to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Following up quotations and identifying opportunities to secure new business
  • Assisting with customer account management and sales administration
  • Resolving customer queries and providing outstanding customer service
  • Supporting the external sales team in driving business growth
  • Maintaining accurate customer and sales records

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience in internal sales, customer service, sales support, or account management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering excellent service
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using business systems
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also managing tasks independently

Highly Regarded

  • Experience within building products, manufacturing, steel, construction, roofing, fencing, or related industries
  • Knowledge of steel building products or the construction sector
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Pronto
  • Existing relationships within the building, construction, or trade sectors
