Summary

This officer will be tasked with administering programs and overseeing division-wide compliance of the Law Enforcement Division.

Job Duties Include:

  • Assisting section supervisor with oversight of division-wide compliance as it relates to agency policies, state and federal laws, and law enforcement standards.
  • Assisting with periodic inspections, audits, and reviews of operational programs.
  • Assisting with oversight of Drone Team compliance.
  • Helping to coordinate efforts between Drone Team, Special Operations Units and LE Regions to ensure statewide standards are achieved throughout the state.
  • Assisting in the management and utilization of Drone Operations statewide.
  • Ensuring standards and criteria in the LE Drone Operation's Directives or Standard Operating Manuals are met.
  • Inspecting all issued equipment related to Drone Operations.
  • Ensuring all Drone Team Directives are followed, and flight logs and operating procedures are current per the Law Enforcement Directive.
  • Assisting with Drone Operation's expenditures and budget projections.
  • Assisting section supervisor with 1033 Program.
  • Assisting in the management of accurate records.
  • Conducting necessary inventories and inspections, and ensuring personnel are trained on the proper use, security, and accountability of assigned property.

Examples of duties

A high school diploma and four (4) years experience as a DNR Class 1 Law Enforcement Officer.

Ability to obtain and maintain certification as a Specific Skills Instructor or higher through SCCJA.

Qualifications

Possess a thorough knowledge of the Title 50 Code of Laws. Ability to focus on both short- and long-term plans of the division/agency. Strong management and leadership skills. Knowledgeable in SCDNR policies and directives.
