This employee will be responsible for daily operations of the DNR Accounts Receivable (AR) unit to include receipt and deposit of monies received from various DNR locations statewide.
Job Duties Include:
A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the required work experience.
A high school diploma and four (4) years clerical accounting experience and government accounting or bookkeeping or a bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses preferred. Ability to operate standard office equipment. A thorough knowledge of SCEIS accounting system and a good understanding of Department Law Enforcement ticket structure, financial structure and laws, SC Tax laws, rules and regulations. Ability to interpret and apply Departmental and SCEIS policies and procedures. Working knowledge of the principles, practices, and terminology of accounting, banking and financial management. Knowledge of state government fiscal, accounting processes regarding best practices. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts and interpret and analyze financial data, records and reports. Ability to work independently with only occasional supervision. Ability to make quality decisions, pay attention to detail, accurately prepare for deposit of large sums of revenue from various DNR locations and to meet established deadlines. Effectively communicate both orally and in writing with coworkers, county magistrates and treasurers, and clerks of court.
