The Senior Procurement Analyst is responsible for analyzing purchasing data, evaluating supplier performance, and optimizing procurement strategies to improve cost efficiency and supply chain reliability. This role supports the purchasing department in sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Acts as subject matter expert providing mentorship and guidance to others regarding purchasing best practices within the organization.
Supplier Management & Procurement Strategy:
- Analyze supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery times, and service reliability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop strategies for supplier negotiations.
- Maintain and develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent supply chain performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to determine material requirements.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze purchasing trends and provide reports on cost savings, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
- Utilize ERP and procurement systems to track purchasing data and identify areas for improvement.
- Support budgeting and forecasting by analyzing historical purchasing data and market trends.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Assess risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, supplier agreements, and purchasing records.
Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:
- Identify inefficiencies in procurement processes and recommend improvements.
- Work with finance and operations teams to develop cost reduction initiatives.
- Implement best practices in sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
Other duties and projects may be assigned based on the operational objectives of the company.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software. Experience in contract negotiation and supplier management. Knowledge of global sourcing, cost analysis, and market trends in manufacturing procurement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers. Additionally, 6 or more months experience in automotive industry, production planning (buyer planning, ERP), and inventory is necessary. Experience in engineering and/or quality assurance is critical.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, or a related field, plus 4-7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field within manufacturing, or Master’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Finance, or a related field, plus 3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or a related field within manufacturing, required; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
