
The University of Chicago's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank who have training and experience in the fields of psychiatry and internal medicine. The appointees will have inpatient, consultation-liaison and outpatient responsibilities providing psychiatric assessment, treatment and consultation services for patients and their families. Appointees will also provide diagnosis and treatment of patient’s primary care and internal medicine clinical needs. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Of note, the department is seeking to expand its residency training program to include the education and training of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residents to enhance the collaborative opportunities between physical health and holistic health. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) have completed residency training in Adult Psychiatry and Internal Medicine; and 4) be Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
We especially welcome applicants familiar with being an integral part of a multidisciplinary care team and who have experience contributing to the growth and development of Internal Medicine-Psychiatry joint residency training programs at academic medical centers.
