We are seeking a Data Scientist with a focus on analytics and business intelligence to deliver end-to-end dashboard and analytics products. You will bridge the gap between source data and business-facing insight by preparing, modelling and visualising trusted data that drives day-to-day decisions. The incumbent will deliver dashboard and analytics products by combining data engineering, semantic modelling, business intelligence development and visualisation skills. Ensure solutions are repeatable, reliable and usable by non‑technical decision makers.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and connect to relevant source data for dashboard and analytics products.
  • Extract, transform and load data and build reusable data preparation routines.
  • Develop semantic models to support consistent reporting and analysis.
  • Design and build Power BI dashboards, measures and management information products.
  • Implement data validation, reconciliation and data quality checks.
  • Document source-to-target mappings, transformation rules and limitations.
  • Support delivery of minimum viable products and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Contribute to user experience design for dashboards and support handover to operational teams.

Qualifications

3 - 5 years' experience in business intelligence, dashboard development, analytics visualisation or management information delivery.

  • Strong experience developing business intelligence dashboards and management information.
  • Practical knowledge of Power BI, semantic modelling and dashboard user experience.
  • Experience writing queries and data transformations (for example using Structured Query Language or formula languages used in modern reporting tools).
  • Familiarity with extract, transform and load processes and data flows.
  • Experience with data reconciliation and ensuring data quality.
  • Clear documentation skills and an ability to explain data models to non‑technical audiences.
  • Focus on delivering minimum viable products and reusable components.
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks Lakehouse is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with dataflows and automated data pipelines.

Behavioural competencies

  • Communication: explains complex data concepts in plain language.
  • Analytical thinking: breaks down problems and validates assumptions with data.
  • Attention to detail: produces accurate models and documentation.
  • Collaboration: works closely with analysts, engineers and business stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement and curiosity: seeks better approaches and learns from outcomes.
  • Outcome orientation: focuses on measurable business impact, not just reports.

Be careful of Recruitment Scams: Fraudsters or employment scammers often pose as legitimate recruiters, employers, recruitment consultants or job placement firms, advertising false job opportunities through email, text messages and WhatsApp messages. They aim to cheat jobseekers out of money or to steal personal information.

To help you look out for potential recruitment scams, here are some Red Flags:

  • Upfront Payment Requests Deloitte will never ask for any upfront payment for background checks, job training, or supplies
  • Requests for Personal Information Be wary if you are asked for sensitive personal information, especially early in the recruitment process and without a clear need for it. Fraudulent links or contractual documents may require the provision of sensitive personal data or copy documents (e.g., government issued numbers or identity documents, passports or passport numbers, bank account statements or numbers, parent’s data) that may be used for identity fraud. Do not provide or send any of these documents or data. Please note we will never ask for photographs at any stage of the recruitment process.
  • Unprofessional Communication Scammers may communicate in an unprofessional manner. Their messages may be filled with poor grammar and spelling errors. The look and feel may not be consistent with the Deloitte corporate brand.

If you're unsure, make direct contact with Deloitte using our official contact details. Be careful not to use any contact details provided in the suspicious job advertisement or email.
