Description

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system
employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

The Office of Audits conducts audits of the Kentucky Court of Justice, including the Administrative Office of
the Courts, circuit court clerks, master commissioners and court facilities.

The Division of Internal Audit has an immediate need for an Internal Auditor in Franklin County.

Examples of Duties or Responsibilities of this Classification:

  • Assists in the development of audit plans and methods for conducting an internal audit.
  • Examines financial documents, accounting records, bank statements, computer records, business records,
    public documents and other relevant records for internal controls and compliance.
  • Conducts interviews with AOC personnel and other KCOJ officials.
  • Conducts testing and prepares recommendations, as needed, resulting from audit work.
  • Communicates with management during audits and as needed; evaluates the adequacy of corrective action
    taken.
  • Demonstrates a high level of technical efficiency and proficiency in the special areas of statistical
    analysis, data mining, and forensic auditing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
BACHELOR'S DEGREE WHICH INCLUDES TWENTY (20) SEMESTER HOURS OR THIRTY (30) QUARTER HOURS IN ACCOUNTING.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
FOUR (4) YEARS JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE IN AUDITING.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
CPA OR CIA WILL SUBSTITUTE FOR REQUIRED FOUR (4) YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with remote work possible. Some travel may be required.
