Job Description

Internal Audit Manager in the Internal Audit Office (Ref.: 537300)

The Role

The appointee will report to the Director of Internal Audit. Job responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and supervision of assigned audits aligned with the Annual Audit Plan and other ad hoc assignments.
  • Conduct risk-based audits in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards, and in compliance with governing laws and regulations applicable to the University.
  • Review findings, ensure quality audit reporting, and provide actionable recommendations to address identified risks.
  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and progress reporting.
  • Support enhancement of audit processes effectiveness and efficiency using technology, analytics and market best practices.
  • Coach Internal Audit Officers to support team and individual’s professional growth.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • Degree holder (master’s degree holder preferred) in relevant discipline(s)
  • 8 to 12 years’ relevant work experience in internal audit, governance, risk management and / or compliance.
  • Experience in universities or educational institutions preferred
  • Internal audit-related qualifications required (e.g. CIA, CISA, CFE etc.)
  • Integrity, leadership, strong interpersonal skills, decision-making, stakeholder influence, mentoring capability, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Data analytics (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, ACL etc.) skills and effective command on use of Artificial Intelligence to conduct internal audit assignments.
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in Mandarin is highly preferred
  • Excellent English report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in PC and accounting software applications.
  • Good interpersonal, organisational, problem-solving, strong analytical and communication skills
  • A good team player, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and ethics

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
