Job Description

The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for leading audit planning and execution across the European region, aligned with enterprise risk priorities and internal audit strategy. The role oversees complex audit engagements, drives continuous improvement in audit methodologies, and promotes the effective use of audit analytics and technology.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex and sensitive audits, including plant, process, financial, contract, and joint venture audits.
• Lead planning and execution of audits aligned with enterprise risk priorities and internal audit strategy. Accountable for delivery of assigned components of the annual audit plan.
• Lead audit risk planning process including evaluation of business, operational, financial, regulatory, and industry risks. Integrate fraud risk, IT risk, and business continuity considerations into audit scope.
• Serve as the primary point-of-contact for staff auditors and department management; manage audit engagements, review workpapers, audit report drafts, and other communications throughout the audit engagement.
• Directly manage a local team of 2-3 auditors. Coach and develop team members and foster accountability.
• Coordinate logistics, evaluate audit staff and participate in audit issue resolutions.
• Participate as a member of departmental and/or cross-departmental teams to provide a key role in developing staff.
• Provide quality and risk analysis services for the audit engagement teams to ensure full coverage and consistency in audit approach.
• May require international travel, approximately 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 6 plus years’ experience in audit or accounting and at least 3 years directly in internal audit or assurance services.
• Min. 1 year of people management experience.
• Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at all levels throughout the organization.
• Must have strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, project management skills and strong writing skills.
• Demonstrated strong initiative and leadership skills as well as be a strong team player.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.

Additionally preferred experience:

• MBA/MA/MS in related field.
• Audit related certification or license, e.g. CPA, CIA or CFE.
• Public audit experience with a top tier firm.
• Familiar with manufacturing operations, plant accounting and corporate tax laws.
