Job Description

• 12-month fixed-term opportunity to step up and broaden your audit experience
• Join a collaborative and high-performing team committed to continuous improvement, innovation and professional growth.
• Flexible working and exposure to senior stakeholders across the bank

About the role:
We're seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to join our Internal Audit team and play a pivotal role in delivering independent assurance and advisory services across People First Bank.

Reporting to the Senior Audit Manager, you'll act as a trusted second-in-command, leading complex audit engagements, supporting the delivery of the Internal Audit Plan, and contributing to the ongoing success and effectiveness of the Internal Audit function. You'll also have the opportunity to provide leadership continuity, stakeholder engagement, and audit oversight.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced internal audit professional looking to broaden their leadership experience, work closely with senior stakeholders, and influence meaningful improvements across a dynamic and evolving financial services organisation. You'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact while further developing your career within a highly collaborative and professional team.

Specifically, this will include:
• Leading end-to-end internal audit engagements across governance, risk management, compliance, and controls.
• Partnering with leaders across the business to identify risks, provide insights, and strengthen control environments.
• Supporting the development and delivery of the Internal Audit Plan and strategic initiatives.
• Utilising data analytics and root cause analysis to deliver meaningful, value-adding recommendations.
• Leading and mentoring co-auditors and co-sourced audit partners to ensure high-quality audit outcomes.
• Acting as the Senior Audit Manager's deputy when required, providing support and covering key responsibilities

About you:
You are a collaborative professional who is able to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels whilst navigating complex situations with professionalism and sound judgement. Your strong communication skills and proactive mindset mean you can balance attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused approach to delivering outcomes.

Specifically, we seek:
• Extensive internal audit, risk assurance, or advisory experience, ideally within financial services.
• Proven ability to independently lead audit engagements from planning through to reporting.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation.
• Experience leading, coaching, or coordinating internal teams and external audit partners.
• Professional qualification such as CIA, CA, CPA, or equivalent.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.

Why you’ll love working with us:
