WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Internal Audit Intern will assist the Internal Audit Department in the execution of the Annual Internal Audit Plan which is approved by the Board.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Note: The duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Internal Audit team on internal audit related projects.
  • Coordinate planning and audit activities with other CapMetro departments and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the performance of internal audit projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a major in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Experience auditing, financial accounts, preparing and reporting financial data, and evaluating business processes.
  • Experience in the use of financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of auditing, and the preparation process of financial statements in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including data analysis.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial records and business processes.
  • Must have adept people skills and professional courteous behavior.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. This position works with multiple project timelines and is responsible for managing employees performing work of a complex nature. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment. Incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs., perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day, and function in an environment with constant interruptions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions as previously described.

Mobility Status:

As a Mobile position, the incumbent is expected to work in the office as needed. There will be access to touchdown/collaboration spaces when on site. Must be in-office for socialization, strategic collaboration, supervision, oversite, and accountability as needed.
