About Lilly & the Role

At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. At our Global Business Solutions (GBS) center in Kuala Lumpur, the Trial Capabilities team supports clinical trials across Asia Pacific through high‑quality financial, operational, and compliance processes.

As a Clinical Trial Payment Intern, you will gain real, hands‑on experience in how clinical trials are funded and supported. You’ll work closely with the TCC Payment team, contribute to meaningful regional projects, and get exposure to financial processes, SAP systems, and process improvement initiatives.

This internship is ideal for students who enjoy problem‑solving, working with data, and learning how global healthcare operations function.

What You Will Be Doing

Payment Reconciliation (Main Project)

  • Review and verify clinical trial site payments using Excel tools.
  • Compare amounts across SAP reports, invoices, and internal trackers.
  • Identify outstanding payments or overpayments and document findings.
  • Collaborate with payment analysts to resolve discrepancies.

SAP Support

  • Assist with vendor creation and purchase order (PO) setup in SAP.
  • Update and maintain PO information in alignment with study budgets.

AP Payment SharePoint Mini Project

  • Help build a one stop SharePoint hub for all payment related resources.
  • Consolidate SME lists, country payment leads, job aids, and playbooks.
  • Support content organization and user-friendly page design.

Process Improvement & Automation Exploration

  • Explore Excel automation, macros, and approved AI tools to simplify workflows.
  • Identify repetitive steps and propose simple automation solutions.
  • Create country-specific checklists or templates to reduce rework and missing information.

General Team Support

  • Assist with administrative and payment related tasks as needed.
  • Follow financial, procurement, and compliance requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a diploma or degree (any discipline).
  • Able to commit to a full‑time internship (6 months).
  • Comfortable working with Excel; open to learning SAP and other systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Chinese/Korean language ability (read/write/listen) is an advantage (for Taiwan / South Korea‑related tasks).
  • Positive attitude, initiative, and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Interest or coursework in finance, accounting, data analytics, life sciences, health sciences, computer science, AI/data science or business.
  • Familiarity with P2P processes or SAP.
  • Problem‑solving, organization, and critical‑thinking skills.
