Role Purpose

Summer 2027 Intern position working independently and in cross functional teams, participates in the design, engineering, procurement, installation, start up, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems such as:

  • Batch Delivery Systems
  • Melting Systems
  • Thermal Process Services
  • Thermal Equipment Design

Role within Group:

The successful incumbent can be expected to fill the following roles:

  • Design/Engineering
  • Drafting & Computer Modeling
  • Project Documentation
  • Task/Project Leader
  • System Commissioning/Troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities

On a daily basis the incumbent in this position will be expected to:

  • Create or document design basis requirements
  • Design mechanical components and assemblies
  • Manage project documentation
  • Specify or otherwise identify commercially available equipment/system components

Travel/Work Hours

  • Some travel may be required for this position. The amount depends on the project location and scope.
  • Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Standard, 40 hrs./wk. Monday - Friday, 8-5. Overtime for meetings and travel as needed.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Capable of domestic travel
  • Junior in bachelor’s Mechanical Engineering program or higher

Desired Skills

  • Prior Industrial or Intern experience
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Computer (Microsoft Office) experience
  • CAD (Solidworks) experience
  • Maturity, common sense and practicality
  • Organized and methodical

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
