Job Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

The Intern, Supply Chain Project Management will support the Supply Chain Project Management team in providing waterfront production support to current New Construction builds. They will monitor schedule and budget adherence, provide robust reporting to internal stakeholders, and apply project management principles to day-to-day activities. This position will require coordination cross-functionally within Supply Chain, Planning, and Engineering.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 2 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What you’ll do

  • Assist the Supply Chain Project Management team in monitoring schedule and executing project deliverables
  • Provide data analytics and reports for subcontractor performance and material availability
  • Prepare forecasts and determine high risk items for upcoming subcontractor work items
  • Collaborate with procurement, warehousing, logistics, and operations on supply chain issues to support reaching project milestones
  • Support risk mitigation efforts by flagging potential supply chain constraints and proposing contingency plans
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • Enrolled in your 2nd or 3rd year in a undergraduate program
  • Knowledge of project management, supply chain, or engineering is desirable
  • Competency with project tracking and forecasting tools is an asset (e.g. Kanban, Gantt, EVM)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work with team members of different functions
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly language
  • Proficiency with MS-Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Word)
  • Experience with Power BI is considered a strong asset
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and able to manage time effectively

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $28.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Tuesday, September 8th, 2026.
End Date of Internship: Friday, December 18th, 2026 (4-Months).
