The Sound Design Intern will work directly under Cosm's Sound Designer and in collaboration with other department and company team members, supporting the creation and implementation of audio for immersive dome experiences. This is an entry-level role for a developing sound designer and mixer, with hands-on exposure to the full audio production pipeline.
Responsibilities:
• Assist the Sound Designers in designing and editing sound for immersive dome and experiential content.
• Support audio mixing sessions, including stem organization, session setup, and mix preparation.
• Help manage audio assets, including file naming, organization, and archiving across active projects.
• Participate in review sessions and provide production support during playback and QC on dome systems.
• Research and source sound effects, music libraries, and reference material as directed.
• Assist with any audio-related tasks that support the broader creative and production teams.

Qualifications:
• Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at the start of the program.
• Available to work in a Cosm Office and venue (hybrid), occasionally at off-shift hours (e.g. 7-9am)
• Available to work 20 hours per week during the defined Intern period.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for immersive technology and content.
• Coursework or demonstrable experience in sound design, audio production, or a related field.
• Familiarity with a DAW (Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, or equivalent).
• Basic understanding of audio mixing concepts, including levels, panning, and signal routing.
The hourly rate for this position is $18/hr.
