Job Description

Your area of work:

We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern for a 6-month internship to support the modernization of a critical business application used in our finance technology environment.

In a constantly evolving technology landscape, keeping core platforms up to date is essential to ensure performance, maintainability, and long-term resilience. As part of this internship, you will contribute to a major migration project by upgrading our application server from JBoss 7 to JBoss 8, assessing technical impacts, and helping implement the required fixes in a Java-based application.

Your responsibilities:

  • Support the migration of a critical application from JBoss 7 to JBoss 8.
  • Analyze technical impacts of the migration.
  • Identify compatibility issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Contribute to code updates and refactoring in Java.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to validate fixes and ensure application stability.
  • Help document findings, migration steps, and best practices for future upgrades.

Your profile:

  • You are enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with a recognized institution and can provide an internship agreement, or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree or similar for no more than 6 months.
  • Good understanding of Java development, especially object-oriented concepts and inheritance.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess migration impacts and troubleshoot issues.
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and detail-oriented way of working.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.
  • Knowledge of JBoss EAP is a strong advantage.
  • French is mandatory; English is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift is a plus.
