Introduction: A Career at HARMAN Automotive

We’re a global, multi-disciplinary team that’s putting the innovative power of technology to work and transforming tomorrow. At HARMAN Automotive, we give you the keys to fast-track your career.

  • Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experience

  • Combine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellence

  • Advance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoyment

About the Role

In this internship, you will support ASPICE‑compliant requirements handling and traceability within a customer project, working with multiple stakeholders (e.g., Safety Manager, System Architect, Project Management, Hardware/Mechanics leaders). The focus is to ensure requirements are well-structured, traceable, reviewable, and available to the project in the right formats.

This is a 6‑month internship (full‑time or part‑time) with a hybrid working model; on‑site preferred (Bucharest) due to close collaboration with the project team.

What You’ll Gain

  • Practical experience in requirements engineering and traceability in an automotive environment, aligned to ASPICE expectations.

  • Hands-on exposure to enterprise requirements tooling and baselining/review workflows (e.g., IBM ALM DNG, ReqIF exports) with mentoring from senior stakeholders.

  • Real-world practice in cross-functional collaboration and clarifying ambiguous requirements with internal/external stakeholders.

  • Potential pathway to a long‑term role based on performance and business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Follow and track the project’s Requirements Engineering process strategy, aligned to project-specific process requirements.

  • Support setup and maintenance of the IBM ALM DNG project structure (e.g., modules, link modules) with guidance from the team.

  • Import, maintain, and export customer requirements in IBM ALM DNG; ensure availability of customer requirement specs in ReqIF format for stakeholders.

  • Define and create requirements baselines and support formal reviews of technical requirement modules (planning, tracking, follow-up).

  • Distribute customer requirements to stakeholders for analysis/derivation; track missing analysis info and completeness of traceability/linking.

  • Clarify ambiguous requirements with internal or external stakeholders and document outcomes.

  • Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate requirements triage, consistency checks, traceability reporting drafts, and documentation—while validating outputs and handling data responsibly

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Basic knowledge of requirements management processes and an interest in disciplined engineering workflows.

  • Basic understanding of embedded software and systems (enough to follow technical context and stakeholder discussions).

  • Strong written communication and attention to detail (requirements quality depends on clarity and structure).

  • Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to improve productivity in requirements work (analysis support, reporting, documentation) with disciplined validation

  • Evidence of excellence through structured work (university projects, documentation-heavy assignments, process or tooling exposure) and reliable execution.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Knowledge of process models (e.g., Automotive SPICE®).

  • German language.

  • Experience or curiosity around automation (e.g., scripts, reports, AI agents) applied to traceability/reporting.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Hybrid working model; on‑site preferred (Bucharest).

  • English working proficiency.

What We Offer

  • Flexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work globally for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer location

  • Access to employee discounts on world-class products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, and more)

  • Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University

  • Competitive wellness benefits

  • Tuition reimbursement

  • “Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards program

  • An inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development
