Manager Title:
Sr. Director, Programming Operations & StrategyProduction Management & Operations (“PMO”) works alongside internal stakeholders and with PBS member stations and producers to facilitate the creation of multiplatform content. The group operates within two prime areas of focus:
1. Production Operations: It functions as a linchpin with broad reach across business units, including: GA and KIDS Programming, Digital, Marketing, Communications, Distribution, Business Affairs & Legal, and Finance. Externally, it interfaces with key funding partner organizations to include: the PBS Foundation, PBS Distribution, producers, and PBS member stations.
2. Production Management: It partners with in-house content teams, PBS stations, and the domestic and international production community. In this regard, the group oversees production logistics and PBS’s financial investments for all content in active negotiation, development, production, delivery, and project reconciliation.
The PMO Intern is required to perform 360-degree effective communication and relationship building, working within the department to assist with the flow of information to all partners while also providing support for the assigned Senior Director, Programming Operations & Strategy (as “Manager”).
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Systems&Processes/Special Assignments
Support the ongoing buildout and optimization of theinter-departmentalproject management platform (hosted onmonday.com);helptoensure cross-department visibility and workflow alignment.
In collaboration with cross-department stakeholders,work on specialty assignments, including but not limited to the reboot and rollout ofessential producersupport materials The intern will be a key partner in thiseffort
Identifyopportunities to streamline processes and improve documentation across systems
Production Operations
Shadow the reviewand evaluation ofproducer proposals to ensure alignment with PBS’seditorial, strategic, and financial goals.
Coordinate with internal business units todeterminework scope on a project-by-project basis.
In partnership with assigned Manager, help move assigned projects through cross-department meetings and systems, and onwards towards contracting.
Shadow consultationworkwith internal constituents to help tailorspecificproject requirements
Contracting
Assistwith the analysis of producer assumptions,production budgets,funding plans,staffing and production schedules, andproductionfinancialcash flows.
Support thecreation of payment schedules and content deliverable documents as they relate to agreed editorial proposals.
Assistinidentifying,tracking,and communicatingfunder sources.
Help prepare andfinalizeinternally approvedproduction exhibits forcontract
Assistwith new vendor setup.
Production
In collaboration with Programming,helpsto organize project “kick-off” and “check-in” meetings with internal and external production partners.
Manage and update funder revenue data within PBS systems,helping togeneratereports and supporting funder compliancedocumentation
Track cross-department milestone completion and collaborate with PMOAssistant Directorstoinitiatepayment authorizations.
Requirements for success:

Seekingor completed aBS/BA in Film/TV/DigitalProduction– or – equivalent educationexposureand experience.

Experience with data management, analysis, and reporting. Data visualization experiencea plus

Compensation: Undergraduate students receive $15/hour, graduate students receive $17/hour
