Job Description

Procurement Intern

The Procurement Intern will support strategic sourcing and sustainability initiatives within Teknor Apex's Procurement organization. The intern will assist with efforts such as supplier management, cost-saving initiatives, market research, supplier performance analysis, tariff recovery efforts, payment term optimization, procurement analytics, and sustainability projects. This position provides hands-on experience working with global suppliers while contributing to initiatives that reduce costs, strengthen supplier partnerships, improve supply chain performance, and support the company's sustainability objectives.

The intern will work closely with Procurement, Sustainability, Finance, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, and Operations on high-impact business projects and will gain exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, procurement analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability, Data Analytics, Finance
  • Interest in procurement, sustainability, and manufacturing
  • Strong AI, Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, formulas, and charts)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to perform duties under specific time requirements
  • Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
