DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves participating in the interpretation, compounding and dispensing of pharmaceutical preparations at the Erie County Medical Center Corporation. This is a training position in the field of pharmaceuticals which enables the individual to secure additional education and experience in the preparation of generic compounds and drugs as permitted by applicable laws, rules and regulations. Work is performed under the supervision of licensed pharmacist. Does related work as required.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good knowledge of principles, procedures and terminology of the science of pharmaceutics; Good knowledge of the pharmacology of compounding drugs at a County hospital; Ability to perform a variety of professional pharmaceutical tasks with a high degree of accuracy; Ability to maintain pharmacy records and to prepare reports; Ability to work well with others;
Initiative and resourcefulness; dependability; industry; Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a Pharmacy Limited (Intern) Permit as issued by the New York State Department of Education at time of appointment and maintenance throughout duration of appointment.
