Intern, meoSphere System Modeling (UI)
Are you looking for a 6‑month internship? This is an opportunity to be part of the Modeling and Simulation team in an innovative satellite organization. As the space industry evolves, our need for advanced graphical, visualization, and interactive simulation tools grows alongside increasingly complex satellite systems. Today’s constellations and 5G NTN architectures require high‑performance graphical simulators to effectively explore, analyze, and communicate system behavior.
Based in Betzdorf, Luxembourg, you will contribute to the development of a cutting‑edge graphical simulator, focused on 5G NTN and Optical Inter‑Satellite Links, enabling interactive visualization of satellite constellations, network behavior, and performance metrics. You will collaborate with experts in telecommunications, simulation, software engineering, and aerospace to design and implement compelling visual representations of complex systems. Your work will support concrete projects such as mesosphere, Pathfinder and IRIS2.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREAS
Collaborate with the team on the design and development of interactive frontend/backend components for a constellation simulator. Develop high‑performance 2D/3D visualizations of satellite constellations, links, coverage, and 5G NTN elements using web or game‑engine technologies. Integrate frontend components with simulator APIs to display, explore, and interact with simulation results such as coverage, latency, and link behavior. Contribute to user experience (UX) design to make complex satellite and 5G NTN concepts accessible and intuitive. Iteratively improve the simulator frontend based on user feedback, performance constraints, and evolving project requirements
