Job Description

LAN is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to support our Marketing team in Houston. This paid internship provides hands-on experience across a variety of marketing functions, including internal communications, social media, graphic design, marketing research, database management, digital asset management, and general marketing operations.

The Marketing Intern will work closely with members of LAN's Marketing team and will have the opportunity to contribute to real projects and communications while learning how marketing supports business development and growth within a professional services and civil engineering firm.

This position is well suited for a college student or recent graduate interested in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, business, or a related field. The internship may be structured as either a full-time or part-time position depending on the candidate's availability.

The Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing team with responsibilities including:

• Assist with the creation, production, and distribution of LAN's weekly internal newsletter.
• Design and regularly update digital reception-area slides and other internal communications materials.
• Create graphics and marketing materials using Canva and established LAN brand standards.
• Prepare and post news, announcements, and other content to LAN's internal HUB.
• Research potential social media topics, industry news, project developments, and other content opportunities.
• Assist with maintaining LAN's marketing and communications calendar.
• Upload, organize, tag, and maintain project photography and other digital assets in OpenAsset.
• Assist with completing the JOIST project photography initiative, including identifying, organizing, and uploading appropriate project images.
• Enter and update confidential client and contact information in Deltek Vantagepoint in accordance with established data-management practices.
• Assist with coordinating and maintaining client and contact lists for LAN's annual holiday card program.
• Upload and organize marketing materials in the company's collateral/content library.
• Research competitor marketing materials, conference collateral, graphics, and industry communications to identify trends and best practices.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining the Marketing team's materials, supplies, and storage areas.
• Gather and organize monthly receipts and supporting documentation for Marketing department credit-card transactions.
• Provide general administrative and project support to the Marketing team as needed.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in or recent completion of a college program in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design, business, journalism, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Comfort working with databases, digital files, spreadsheets, and online content-management systems.
• Basic graphic-design skills and familiarity with Canva or similar design tools.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• An interest in social media, digital marketing, communications, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
• Professional judgment when working with confidential client, employee, and company information.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Deltek Vantagepoint, OpenAsset, Canva, or similar platforms is helpful but not required.
