CORPORATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

JOB SUMMARY

The Learning & Development Operations Intern supports the planning, coordination, administration, and reporting of regional learning programs across APEC managed and franchise properties. This role helps ensure associates have access to the right learning opportunities by supporting Learning Experience Platform (LXP) administration, enrollment tracking, learner follow-up, virtual learning production, completion reporting, and program closeout. The intern will also assist with learning resources, job aids, presentation materials, and communications for Marriott’s digital transformation deployments. Working closely with the regional L&D team and key stakeholders, this internship offers practical exposure to how large-scale learning initiatives are delivered across a complex hospitality organization.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration, Learning & Development, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong interest in hospitality, associate development, learning technology, and employee experience
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Detail-oriented, organized, service-minded, and able to follow through on tasks in a fast-paced environment

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong coordination and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple learning administration tasks
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with confidence supporting stakeholders across different markets
  • Curious and proactive mindset, with a willingness to learn new systems, processes, and ways of working
  • Ability to handle data and learning records accurately and responsibly

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Support the administration and coordination of regional webinars, virtual learning sessions, and training programs across APEC, including enrollment tracking, communications, logistics, attendance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Assist with end-to-end virtual session production using tools such as Microsoft Teams, surveys, polls, breakout rooms, and chat features to create a smooth and engaging participant experience.
  • Set up, maintain, and update learning programs in the Learning Experience Platform (LXP), helping ensure accurate course configuration, learner access, user profiles, and completion records.
  • Manage learning enrollment activities, including registering participants, tracking attendance, monitoring learner progress, resolving basic enrollment queries, and following up on overdue completions.
  • Prepare and maintain learning completion trackers, dashboards, certificates, and program closeout documentation to support visibility of learning participation and compliance.
  • Support the deployment of Marriott’s digital transformation journey and other L&D initiatives by coordinating learning resources, job aids, presentation materials, stakeholder updates, and training administration requirements.
  • Serve as a support point of contact for learning administration questions, escalating issues where needed and providing timely, service-oriented assistance to associates, managers, and L&D partners.

  • Seek feedback, apply learning, and continuously improve the quality and accuracy of assigned work.
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a warm, professional, and service-oriented manner consistent with Marriott’s culture.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the regional Learning & Development team.
