This is a 12 month internship role, ideally suited to a co-op student of a post-secondary institution or a recent graduate.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Investment Operations team for a 12-month internship. This role is ideal for someone passionate about AI, data, technology, and automation in the investments industry. You will gain hands-on experience Investment Operations and develop AI-driven automation solutions, data management, and process optimization, while collaborating with multiple teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform financial and data analysis.
  • Assist with management, financial statement and client reporting.
  • Assist with pool and transfer agency oversight.
  • Develop and implement AI-powered tools and automation solutions to optimise the operational workflows of the Investment Operations team.
  • Contribute to the development and support of an AI-driven operational implementation framework, helping to establish robust standards and workflows for automated processes.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all newly developed automated processes, creating clear guidelines and reference materials to support ongoing maintenance, scalability, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Use programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA) to build scripts and process enhancements.
  • Work with Office 365 tools (Power Automate, SharePoint, Power BI) to enhance productivity.
  • Monitor and measure data feeds from multiple sources.
  • Manage and improve data quality across various investment systems.
  • Assist with daily/weekly/monthly reporting and automation of recurring tasks.
  • Assist with documenting process flows, developing procedures, and controls.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Interest in financial services and investments industry.
  • Must be curious, organized, client focused, work in ambiguity, and have sound research skills.
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Finance, or related field, or a recent graduate.
  • Minimum of two (2) or more co-op work terms.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, VBA, or other programming languages (experience with automation frameworks is an asset).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, Word, Power BI, Power Automate).
  • Knowledge of investments, financial management and accounting an asset.

The base salary range for this position is CAD $45,000 to $65,000. The placement within the range is determined by the role and assessment of the candidate’s year of study and relevant work experience.
