Job Description

Temporary position for 6 months

In recent years, the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office has been working on a shift to update its #InternalAudit role. The goal is to become a leader in monitoring by putting innovation, agility and advisory services to work for members and clients, the public and regulatory authorities governing Desjardins. Our ability to create trusted partnerships and nurture talent will be key to achieving this. An auditor is a caring partner to Desjardins managers, providing support that promotes proactive risk management, helps achieve objectives and ensures member and client satisfaction. This sector offers a paid internship with the possibility of being hired. In this role, you’ll develop a 360° view of the organization, and become familiar with internal auditing and its professional practice in the field of financial risk management. You’ll have the opportunity to influence your ideas, leverage your strengths and make a significant impact on the organization’s strategic priorities. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Assist auditors in their work and work closely with them—for example, on internal audit mandates related to financial market activities, trading, ALM and treasury—using an analytical, quantitative and risk-based approach.
  • Help analyze process management, identify best practices and areas for improvement.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics or mathematics
  • Working towards your CFA designation
  • Your educational institution must credit or certify your internship toward a master’s degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Knowledge of French required
