Work Location Butte, MT

Pay range $20.00 - $21.00/hour (first year interns $20.00/hour, returning interns $21.00/hour)

Employment Status: Temporary (May - August full-time, 40 hours per week)

(September - December part-time, up to 20 hours per week)

About this position:

The Hydro Engineer Intern will Provide technical support to the Hydro Engineering team through a variety of assignments in the office and at the hydroelectric dams. This includes estimating costs, engineering support, project management and drafting in AutoCAD.

  • Learn about hydroelectric dams and projects while assisting hydro engineering staff with various light engineering tasks
  • Research, scope, and develop cost estimates for potential future projects
  • Contribute to a variety of tasks assigned to hydro engineering including the collection of data at the hydroelectric sites
  • Support drafting work for various ongoing and future projects
  • Work closely with drafting, engineering and field personnel
  • Regular use of Word, Access, and Excel
  • Learn and use Adept drawing repository
  • Participate in organizational work meetings
  • Travel up to 10% of the time may be required
  • Lifting of material up to 35 pounds

  • Engineering major required; Civil, Electrical or Mechanical preferred

  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Must Provide GPA in Resume upon application
