External: Contractors, suppliers, local authorities (JAFZA, Dubai Ports, Municipality, Civil Defense, Dubai Police, Ministry of health)

Activities

The HSSEQ Intern will support the Health, Safety, Sustainability, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ) team in maintaining management systems, promoting sustainability initiatives and assisting in operational safety and risk management. He/she will assist the Projects and HSSEQ teams in labeling instruments, valves, and piping systems according to standard Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID). This role ensures accurate identification and compliance with company and international standards, supporting operational safety and efficiency.

HSEQ Management System Coordination

  • Support the effort to maintain the documentation related to policy and procedures under HSEQ management systems: ISO14001, ISO 45001, ISO9001. ISO50000, IATF16949 and One Maestro

Sustainability & Environmental Programs

  • Support the Sustainability Officer in the implementation of Our 5 Levers for a Sustainable Change, Biodiversity & Environmental programs.

Industrial Health & Hygiene

  • Support the Industrial Hygiene coordinator in completing the annual health monitoring surveys and assist in maintaining the records from the health risk assessments.

Operational Safety & Risk Management

  • Support the coordination of relevant HSEQ programs and initiatives such as safety tours, internal audits, ETSCAF visits and other management requirements (e.g. EDOC, MAESTRO and EDOC audits).

Stakeholder Management

  • Assist the grievance manager to record grievances related to TELBU activities and monitor status of actions until they are closed out.
  • Coordinates the activities with local stakeholders and ensure alignment with the SRM+ programs.

Emergency & Crisis Management Support

  • Assist in implementing Emergency Response Plans, Crisis Management Procedures, and Business Continuity Plans.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist in preparing the HSEQ reports and records (e.g. One Synergy, OSCAR, Operations Fitness Certificate, etc.) for management and authorities.
  • Keep up-to-date records of incident investigations and waste management reports.

Training & Awareness

  • Promote HSEQ awareness and assist in organizing safety campaigns and events.
  • Help in coordinating with HR in updating the HSSEQ training matrix.

Contractor/Supplier Safety Management

  • Assist HSSEQ coordinator in scheduling, reviewing documents & records from contractors and monitors status of actions & improvement plans.

Digital Tools

  • Assist in the implementation of the 8 modules in Bizzmine.

P & ID Verification, Tagging & Documentation

  • Review and understand P&ID diagrams to identify instruments, valves, and piping systems.
  • Apply correct labelling on instruments and pipes as per company & international standards and specifications.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in labelling across all designated areas.
  • Maintain records of labelled equipment and update documentation accordingly.
  • Verify labelling against P&ID diagrams and report discrepancies to the project team.

Candidate Profile

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related field)

Skills:

  • Basic understanding of P&ID diagrams and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Proactive mindset with attention to detail and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • English: Fluent (spoken and written) — essential for reporting and communication with regional/global teams.
  • Urdu/Hindi: Advantageous for local coordination with contractors
