We are seeking a motivated high school student to join our team through a work study program in Winifred, MT. This role offers exposure to agricultural operations, administrative duties, safety practices, and professional development in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about CHSs cooperative model and role in agriculture and energy.
  • Develop workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, and time management.
  • Engage in mentorship opportunities and career exploration activities.
  • Assist with basic operational tasks such as organizing tools, cleaning workspaces, and preparing equipment under supervision.
  • Shadow experienced staff in agronomy, grain, or energy operations to learn about agricultural processes and logistics.
  • Gain knowledge of general agriculture skills such as scouting, crop protection products, crop nutrient products, seed, custom application procedures, mixing procedures, truck driving, and delivering products.
  • Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance for all agronomy equipment including legs, conveyors, towers, vehicles, sprayers, floaters, trucks, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed.
  • Develop skills in industry specific areas
  • Always follow all CHS safety protocols and procedures.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when in designated work areas.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • Must be currently enrolled in a participating high school work-study program
  • Authorization from school counselor or program coordinator
  • Ability to work part-time during school hours or after school

Additional Qualifications

  • Interest in agriculture, business, or operations.
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety guidelines.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Personal and professional references preferred

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.

If eligibility requirements are met, you may participate in 401(k).
