Job Description

1. Project Planning & Schedule Monitoring

Objective

Provide interns with practical exposure to project planning, project controls, and project execution processes.

Key Activities

  • Assist in maintaining and updating project schedules and milestone trackers.
  • Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules.
  • Support the preparation of weekly and monthly project performance reports.
  • Participate in project review meetings and accurately record action items and follow-up activities.

Expected Learning Outcomes

  • Understanding of the project lifecycle and execution framework.
  • Basic proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Fundamentals of schedule development, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Exposure to project control practices and performance tracking.

2. Project Performance Reporting & Data Analytics

Objective

Develop analytical, reporting, and data visualization capabilities to support project decision-making.

Key Activities

  • Collect, validate, and consolidate project data related to cost, schedule, HSSE, risks, and action items.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using Excel, Power BI, and/or SharePoint.
  • Monitor project KPIs and prepare reports for management review.
  • Analyze performance trends and identify issues requiring management attention.

3. Risk, Stakeholder & Project Governance Support

Objective

Provide exposure to project governance frameworks, risk management processes, and stakeholder engagement practices.

Key Activities

  • Maintain and update the Project Risk Register and Action Tracker.
  • Assist in preparing governance meeting materials, presentations, minutes, and reporting packs.
  • Coordinate follow-up actions with project stakeholders to ensure timely closure.
  • Support project document control and lessons-learned documentation.

  • Fundamentals of project risk management.
  • Stakeholder communication and engagement practices.
  • Project governance, assurance, and compliance processes.
  • Professional communication, coordination, and administrative skills.

Overall Internship Outcome

By the end of the internship, the intern will gain practical experience in project planning, project controls, reporting and analytics, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and project governance, while developing proficiency in key project management tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
