What You Can Expect

As our Finance Operations and Compliance Intern, you will support the GBS Accounting team by reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, assessing internal control procedures, verifying the accuracy of financial transactions, and contributing to the optimization of financial workflows for improved efficiency. This role provides hands-on experience in financial operations and valuable insight into the accounting processes that support complex retail activities. The position is based in our Houston, TX office and spans three months, from September 2026 to December 2026. You will report to the Director, Operational Finance

  • Examine and validate balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Review non-standard financial transactions for correctness and consistency with accounting standards
  • Help maintain documentation related to financial transactions along with the review and compliance activities
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to understand and support retail-related financial operations
  • Contribute to initiatives that ensure adherence to compliance standards

What You’ll Bring

  • You are currently a sophomore pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • You have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You are detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Additional Details

  • The intern should be available to work 20–30 hours per week, with the option of two in-office days (part-time, 20 hours) or three in-office days (full-time, 40 hours)
  • Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Hourly Range: $21.00 – 32.00 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
