Job Description

Alpiq's EDM International team develops and maintains a data platform for managing and utilizing data from various systems. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic projects related to the creation of new data products and the improvement of data quality.

Your accountabilities

• Building the data platform:
  o Developing new ingestion pipelines to integrate data from various systems.
  o Creation of standard jobs and libraries to automate processing.
• Analysis of generated data:
  o Exploration and validation of datasets to extract useful insights.
• Data quality:
  o Participation in a data qualification project (controls, rules, indicators).
  o Detection and monitoring of anomalies to improve system reliability.
• Collaboration:
  o Working closely with the rest of the team.
  o Contributing to technical documentation and best practices.
  o Exchange with client teams: Trading, Asset Optimization, and Middle Office.

Your profile

• Education: Master's student or final-year Bachelor's student in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent field.
• Languages: Python (essential), SQL; knowledge of Spark or equivalent is a plus.
• Data Engineering: ETL pipelines, data ingestion, format management (CSV, Parquet, JSON).
• Data Science: basic statistics, visualization, data manipulation.
• Cloud & Big Data: familiarity with environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP (preferred).
• Tools: Git, CI/CD, data processing frameworks.
• Analytical and rigorous mind.
• Ability to solve complex problems.
• Autonomy and curiosity about new technologies.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Duration and location

• Duration: 6 months (flexible depending on availability).
• Location: Lausanne, VD (hybrid possible).
