About the Role
Defect Management is a project management activity and part of project management for SW area. A team of defect managers is providing expert knowledge to all major European OEM projects. It aims to establish standardized problem resolution processes, reporting standards and tailors project conventions. It handles a large amount of SW defects and sets up necessary tooling.
This role is a student/trainee internship supporting defect managers with ticket operations, reporting, and automation. It is a 6‑month internship (full‑time or part‑time) with a hybrid working model; on‑site preferred (Bucharest) for collaboration and stakeholder interactions.
What You Will Do
Support Defect Managers across projects in Europe with day-to-day ticket operations.
Improve defect data quality by verifying/correcting ticket assignments, adding tags/flags, and checking links to customer ticket tools.
Support project milestone activities (e.g., closing defects on completion, generating back‑integration tickets to track fixes across branches).
Prepare and maintain defect reporting: verify report filters, generate KPI/topic-based reports, and support meeting agendas and follow-ups.
Support process quality and tooling: maintain documentation, handle database access requests, track ticket sync issues, and coordinate follow-up with the engineering tooling team.
Use Copilot/AI-assisted tools to accelerate reporting drafts, analysis summaries, and documentation updates - while validating results and handling data responsibly.
What You Need to Be Successful
Strong affinity for data, numbers, and structured work (quality mindset, attention to detail).
IT/tooling confidence: practical experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Copilot (or similar productivity tooling).
Excellent communication skills in English.
Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to accelerate reporting and documentation with disciplined validation and responsible data handling.
Evidence of excellence through prior structured work (projects, internships, student initiatives) and consistently reliable execution.
Bonus Points if You Have
Ongoing education in Engineering or Computer Science.
VBA and/or Python experience for automation.
